Hello fellow tinkerer!
Browsing my local second hand listing website I found LG 27UK600-W for 4€, such an incredible deal. It was listed as partially working so I decided to try my luck in fixing that. According to photos attacked to the listing I saw that the backlight of the screen is not fully functional, previous owner stated that the monitor has worked fine for him for 3 years and recently out of nowhere the backlight started to malfunction. My immediate thoughts where that either the WLED backlight strip is faulty or the mainboard.
Quick eBay search showed me that the mainboard can be easily obtained if that's the root of the problem. Information about WLED used is very hard to find from the model number alone but usually it can be found knowing the LCD panel used.
