Before the repair, the speaker literally rattled like a bean in a pod— if I shook the headset I could feel it rattling. I preemptively repaired the other side too. Neither side rattles now at full volume, and the microphone works too.

    • Gently by hand using a small twist bit, cleanly penetrate the plastic case. Stop when metal is visible.

    • There is an air-gap between the case and the back of the speaker.

    • Optionally ream the mouth of the glue port.

    • I used a countersink. Generally an oversized twist bit can serve the purpose.

    • apply a single drop of glue

    • Here I successfully used Gorilla Glue. Other glue or epoxy products have been used by others. The objective is to fill in behind the speaker and/or adhere the flange of the speaker to the cup.

    • work the adhesive into the glue port for example using a toothpick.

    • Gorilla glue can foam, so I taped over the glue port temporarily while the glue dried overnight.
