    • Open up the back and remove the film cartridge.

    • Remove the two Phillips #00 screws from the bottom of the camera.

    • Remove the two screws on the side of the camera.

    • Additionally, there are two screws in the battery compartment which also need to be removed.

    I had the same problem with my camera which I have had for about 10 years now all the red lights on my camera came on and I could not use my camera to FIX this problem you need to turn the camera on and replace the batteries with new batteries and this will reset your camera I did this last night and my camera is as good as new now

    • Once all screws are removed, gently pry open the front casing with your hands or a prying tool.

    • There will be a spring that attaches the front casing and the main circuit board, so take care as to not break the spring.

    • You should now be able to see the flash unit. Take care to not touch the large black capacitor on the top. It will still have a charge and will hurt.

    • Unscrew the two screws attaching the flash to the main circuit board. The flash unit will detach away from the motherboard, now leaving just the connecting wires to remove next.

    • With a solder kit, heat the connecting solder points to open the connection, thus removing the connecting wires. There are many ways to do this, depending on the available tools on hand.

I have a Instax 7s… I want to install a switch in the camera in order to mod it to have a “NO FLASH” option… Where should I put the switch? I was thinking in dividing one of the capacitor areas or the red wire of the flash unit. Any advice?

I also want to do this for the ejecting motor in order to do double expositions (Yep. I’ll be really modding this camera hahaha)
