Caution: The three screws removed in this step are tiny and should be placed in a secure location.
Using the #00 Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the two screws located on the bottom of the camera, as well as the single screw located next to the LCD screen (refer to pictures).
Using tweezers, gently slide the small, orange, translucent strip (LCD cable) horizontally from its white plug towards the camera's screen (refer to picture).
Caution: Do not completely remove the button release panel from the camera. Black and red cables will keep the panel attached to the camera. Just let the panel hang out of the way as you complete the remaining steps.
Using your fingers, pop open the USB port cover (labeled as “A/V OUT DIGITAL” on the camera).
Using your fingers, remove the button release panel, located on the top of the camera (refer to picture).
Note: To view a larger version of these pictures, click the "Use huge" option located in the upper lefthand corner of the picture.
Using the spudger, flip the small gray clip (located next to the dark gray LCD port on top of camera) in an upward motion. Clip should remain attached to camera, not removed completely (refer to pictures).
Note: This is the first step in reassembling the camera with your new LCD screen.
Slide the LCD screen back on the camera by aligning the bottom left flap with the outside of the screw hole (refer to picture). Check all corners of the screen to ensure proper fit.
Insert LCD strip horizontally into port, using tweezers if necessary.
Flip small gray clip from the vertical position to the horizontal position. There will be a light clicking sound when the flap switches to the horiztonal position, locking the LCD strip in place.
Take the white prong on the button panel (located on top of camera) and line up with the hole (as shown in picture). Once these are aligned, the button panel will snap into place.
Caution: The three screws reattached in this step are tiny and should be handled carefully.
Note: the two screws on the bottom of the camera should be the longer screws, not the shorter ones.
Using the #00 Phillips-head screwdriver, reattach the two screws located on the bottom of the camera and the one screw on the side of the camera. These screws hold the LCD screen in place (refer to pictures).
Note: The USB port, labeled "A/V DIGITAL OUT", must be open prior to reattaching the side cover.
Reattach the side cover of the camera by snapping it back into place (refer to picture). Once the side cover is in place, close the USB cover, labeled “A/V DIGITAL OUT.”
