Inleiding

If you need to replace your keyboard use this guide to help. You are going to take out the motherboard and fan along the way to taking out the keyboard. This repair is of moderate difficulty and requires you to take out most of the inside of the laptop before you can replace your keyboard so it is fairly time consuming. The tools needed for this guide is the jimmy, spudger, and a zero bit Phillips head screw driver.

  1. Flip your laptop over so the bottom is facing you. Remove the twelve 5 mm  screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver. Remove the twelve 5 mm  screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.

  2. Insert the jimmy between the back cover of the laptop and the base of the laptop and then slowly jimmy off the back cover of the laptop.   6. Gently lift the battery out of the laptop. Be cautious with the lithium ion battery as you remove it.

  7. Use the spudger to the locking tabs on each of the four ZIF cable connectors. Remove each of the ribbon cables from their connectors. Remove each of the ribbon cables from their connectors.

  8. Using the Phillips 0 head screwdriver, unscrew the eight 3mm screws holding in the motherboard and the three 3mm screws holding down the fan. Using the Phillips 0 head screwdriver, unscrew the eight 3mm screws holding in the motherboard and the three 3mm screws holding down the fan.
    • Using the Phillips 0 head screwdriver, unscrew the eight 3mm screws holding in the motherboard and the three 3mm screws holding down the fan.

  9. Remove the motherboard and the fan by gently pulling them out of the assembly. Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the three 3mm screws holding down the daughterboard and gently pull it up and out of the assembly. Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the three 3mm screws holding down the daughterboard and gently pull it up and out of the assembly.
    • Remove the motherboard and the fan by gently pulling them out of the assembly.

    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the three 3mm screws holding down the daughterboard and gently pull it up and out of the assembly.

  10. Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the eight 5mm screws from the display brackets on either side. Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the eight 5mm screws from the display brackets on either side. Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the eight 5mm screws from the display brackets on either side.
    • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, unscrew the eight 5mm screws from the display brackets on either side.

  11. Remove the keyboard assembly by gently pulling it up. Remove the keyboard assembly by gently pulling it up.
