== Achtergrond en Identification ==

The Shield Tablet werd uitgebracht op 29 juli 2014 door Nvidia en het is de eerste generatie van het Schield Tablet-serie. Het kan worden geïdentificeerd door het woord Schield op de achterzijde van de behuizing van het toestel; echter een nieuwer model is nog niet vrijgegeven, dus de enige verwarring voor identificatie zou zijn andere tabletten van soortgelijke strakke, zwarte design. Deze tablet is speciaal ontworpen voor gaming doeleinden en maakt gebruik van het Android-besturingssysteem Lollipop. Het wordt vaak gekocht met de Nvidia Shield Controller, waardoor het een compact en zeer draagbare gaming apparaat is.
