Dark/Dim screen on MacBook not related to broken backlight or inverter

I recently tested to see if another compatible MacBook LCD screen was working by hooking inverter and display cable up to a MacBook that already had a working screen. Did this switch multiple times and was easily able to hook original screen back up. Now the screen on the MacBook with functioning screen is very dark after reconnecting original cables. Clearly a backlight issue but no damage to any inverter cable and wire is not pinched in hinge.Almost positive inverter cable is plugged correctly into connector but am reluctant to open the clutch cover to see if it is fully connected to the inverter. I don't believe that is the issue or that the backlight is damaged in anyway. Cleaned connectors, did reset of Smc and Pram. The brightness display is on highest setting and macbook works fine connected to an external.

Is this a logic board shortage of any kind? Near the display or inverter cables? The previously working dark screen has never been opened or damaged.

As reference , picture of hooking up faulty display that might have caused connection damage to functioning macbook screen http://db.tt/poHfu21Y

Usually backlight issues are caused by a faulty inverter board but in this case I'd guess that maybe the inverter cable is not fully connected, I'd try reseating it.

Thanks for your reply. I know the inverter cable is seated properly to the connector. Not positive about it's connection to the inverter board but can't imagine that it's not connected because I only disconnected and reconnected it once so there was almost no strain on the cable.

I'm assuming that while reconnecting the display and inverter cable there may have been power to the logic board causing a short either near inverter cable or near display cable.I was hoping for an easy fix but seems like that won't be happening. Any help is appreciated. Pictures of display cable connection and inverter cable connection below....

I guess you try replacing the logic board and seeing if that works, but replacing the logic board would be an expensive solution and is generally seen as a last resort.
