0491 code popped how to troubleshoot and fix it?
Daughters car engine light came on.took to take 5 oil nearest her. They said 0491. But has everything from a 400 dollar air pump to hose leak to bad relay, how to figure out what it really is?

1. The "Cold Start" Test
Pop the hood and have someone start the car when the engine is completely cold. You should hear a high-pitched "vacuum cleaner" or "jet engine" sound coming from the front of the engine for about 30–90 seconds.
If you hear nothing: The pump is likely not getting power or has failed internally.
If you hear the pump but it sounds very loud/raspy: Look for a cracked hose.
