The Dell Latitude 5410 (typically running Windows 10 or 11) doesn't have unique network hardware settings that drastically change data consumption compared to standard Windows laptops. High data usage often comes from background processes like Windows Update, app sync (OneDrive, etc.), telemetry, automatic downloads, and cloud features—especially noticeable when using a mobile hotspot or limited data plan.
Here are the most effective ways to configure your network and system settings to significantly reduce data usage:

You need to control your Applications!
Review what are auto launched as well as what are not active on your Desktop space. As an example you might have open tabs in your Web Browser which are constantly being refreshed. It could be a Cloud based file which is shared that you have open.
The computer and its OS are slaves to the Apps you have running, at best you might be able to get some data compression, but mostly this only works with file compression inflight not dialogs as they are not as bulky.
