The Malibu was redesigned for the 2008 seventh generation. This generation of Malibu came in many trim levels: the Base (2008 only) (1SB), the LS 1LS (or 1FL for fleet models 2011 and 2012), the LT 1LT (or 2FL for fleet models 2011 and 2012), the Hybrid (2008 and 2009 only), and the LTZ 1LZ. Only the top-level LTZ trim package was fitted with clear brake light lenses with red LED lights, the balance of trim packages retaining red lenses with conventional brake light bulbs.

Why is my power steering being weird

the power steering randomly goes out while im otr if i left the car sit without driving itll stay on but when i drive it might go out

@douglasbraun that could be an issue with the power steering control module or the steering shaft position sensor. Have your Malibu's OBDII scanned and see if there are any codes that come up. Even so it is unlikely to be a mechanical issue, you do want to make sure there are no leaks and that you have enough power steering fluid etc.
