xbox front panel ribbon cable is glitchy and will not power on

I recently tried to get my old xbox out to play some warthunder and it would not turn on, i assumed the ribbon cable was faulty or disconnected as that had happened before but when i reconnected it the "dudu du" startup chime played when the cable was moved slightly no video was displayed and the light shone for a very short time before it turned off. it also made a single ding occasionally after the light and chime. i have no idea what is going on or what i need to move around or buy to fix it. the ribbon cable is definitely working as is the psu.

Hi!

Those cables are known to fail and are very fragile.

Are you sure it’s still good? I had to replace those cables many times, as it was still glitching and pressing in every single button at the same time giving the “ding” and “chime” sounds.

Replacing the cable did solved it for me.

Would try this first and see how that works out!

Big time agree with this. I had issues with my own Xbox with that cable after I did some internal cleaning. They are known to be really touchy and prone to failure.
