Why does it sound like the coolant is overflowing?

My jeep has been overheating so I have been adding coolant. Now it sounds like it is full and overflowing when I push the gas.

@nicolelyazzie That "Now it sounds like it is full and overflowing when I push the gas." after this "jeep has been overheating" could actually be a bad head gasket. Every time you press the accelerator, you are increasing the pressure in the cooling system through a leaking cylinder head gasket. That is something you definitely want to get checked out. Of course, if you are wanting to do that by yourself, let us know what your skill level is so we can try and help you with this further.

When a Jeep Renegade is shut off, itโ€™s normal to hear coolant moving through the system for a short time as the engine cools down. As the coolant temperature changes, it expands and contracts, which can cause it to flow into the coolant reservoir (overflow tank). If you open the hood after shutting the vehicle off, you can see coolant returning to the reservoir and hear light flowing or bubbling sounds. This is part of the normal cooling system operation as pressure equalizes and heat dissipates from the engine. ๐ŸŒก๏ธ๐Ÿš—
