Hi!

Yes there is a way to fix it without replacing the motherboard.

First you need to get the motherboard out, then you will notice that there is a "Conductive pad" for the A,B,X,Y buttons located on the motherboard. Replace that one for a new one and you are good to go!

While you are there, it's recommended to replace the rubbers as well!

Thank you I also figure out a another method that doesn't require replacing it by cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol which I just used

Yes, it's possible to take out the conductive pad, clean the traces with isopropyl alcohol, then dry it again and put the conductive pad back on. This should also work! But for optimal performance and to make sure that it won't happen soon again, it's recommended to replace it. Good luck with the repair!
