My Composite Video (RCA cable) are too loose in the TV slots

It's the yellow one that is loose. I have to wiggle it around each time and sometimes several times. How can I get a better connection? Maybe there is a lubricant that would improve the conducting so the signal will travel better. Otherwise I have to get a new (used) TV just because of this.

I have several cables and they all are loose.

@arenard you definitely want to stay away from lubricants and grease etc. I would suggest that you get a new set of RCA cables and try those. Get a good set since they are manufactured with a little closer tolerances. Something made by Mogami or Canare is what the audiophiles recommend :-) Remember, yellow is just a color. Ultimately, any RCA cable will work in that connector as well.

Thank-you. I didn't know that any color cable would work. I will try all these I have and probably get some new ones but I think the problem is the socket. When I move it around, there is one cable that will only work in just one position. Moving it all around it stays off except in one position.

Also, the audio cables don't have any problems.

@arenard if anything try some thin aluminum foil and wrap it tightly around the center pin of the RCA connector. It may help to “close the gap” and help to makecontact. The only othercwsy would be by replacing the jack on the main board or the complete mainboard itself. Of course if you csn dolder you could just get a female connector with a short piece of cable attached to it, and solder that to the main board. It’ll look a bit “different” but would save you money and keep stuff out of yhe landfill :-)

I will try the aluminum foil. I can't solder and even opening the TV would be too much for me. Maybe I will have to get anew TV.

I looked up those 2 cables you recommended but I only found one and it is very expensive, which would be alright except I doubt it will work.

@arenard yes, those cables are crazy expensive :-) No, don't by a new TV for this. It would be such a waste of your money and resources. It's to good to go into the bin. What device are you connecting to your TV that uses the RCA cables.

A VCR and a DVD. I think I figured it out and I will work on it today and let you know. I think both of the yellow cables have a broken wire and I will use a white or red cable and it should work.
