Why does my clock reset when I reset my DSi?

Every time I turn on my friend's Nintendo DSi, his clock resets to 01/01 00:00. We thought that in order to fix this problem, that we should purchase a new battery. I bought one off of ebay relatively cheap and installed it into his Dsi yesterday. I noticed that half the time it kept the time, and half the time when I reset the system it also reset the clock.

Now I assuming that there is another battery somewhere on the motherboard that keeps the clock moving. I want to try to replace it, but have no idea where to look. I do have some experience with taking apart the Nintendo Ds and the DS Lite, and this looks easier since the screws are common now instead of those tri-wing ones. Any tips will be appreciated. Thanks.

The battery is the reason for that, get a official nintendo one.

The battery I purchased on ebay was an official Nintendo one, I hardly ever buy third party hardware unless it is the same or better quality.

Battery could still be faulty, get another one.
