Why wont this thing turn on

@itsnotmemaro try this, remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. now hold the start button depressed for 10 seconds. Replace the AC adapter and try to start your MBP without the battery. Let us know if you gt any sign of life. Since it also does not come on when you shorten the PWR BTN pins the issue could be related to your logic board. there were issues with the NVIDIA chipset that may be causing it. Are you getting any light on your Magsafe adapter? id it work before? Anything happened to it that we might need to know about? Any history on this?

This sounds like it could be a logic board issue, but without further troubleshooting we don't have much to go off of. You can start by disconnecting any non-essential components from the logic board (battery, hard drive, trackpad, etc.)—then attempt to power on the logic board in different configurations to see if you can get any response. If the logic board doesn't power on even in a minimal configuration then you most likely have a damaged logic board. At that point you would need to investigate the circuitry on the logic board to discover the cause of the issue. Good luck!
