Hard Disk replacement guide

Do you think I can use the guide for iMac Intel 20" EMC 2133 and 2210 Hard Drive Replacement because it does'nt exist yet for mine - I guess that I screwed up when I was installing lion and now it often happens that it can't boot beause it can't find the starting disk...

Please help me...

thanks for sharing all this fixit stuff

First, thank you because I felt so desperate.

I think there's a problem I can't figured out because most of the time the system can't find the starting disk - I used utilitary disk but it said there is no problem on the disk - same for permission. But it allows me fianlly to make it appear again.

I tried with disk warrior - no problem detected -

I tryed with idefrag as well and optimised the disk because it finally appears as a target disk.

But sometimes it disappears completely even with utilitary disk....

This happens since I installed Lion on this device. It became more often frozen

And I spend half an hour at least to reboot with installation disk, using utiliatry disk and then only it reappears...

What do you think ?

Thanks for your help.

Please give us the last three figures of your serial number so we know exactly which machine you have, this really matters. The machines up till about mid 2009 can have hard drives replaced yourself, some need specific cables, some can only be upgraded by Apple. Try starting up holding down the Option key, go to the recovery and run Disk Utilities. Why do you think the drive should be replaced?
