My screen isn't responding to touch after water was splashed on it why

My baby splashed water on my phone surface and I quickly dried it and checked if water entered the speakers and charging port and water didn't enter it. My screen guard was broken so a little water was in between the screen and screen guard so I removed the screen guard and cleaned the screen. My phone was working fine for 30 minutes then the screen stopped responding. Everything is working, the screen is fine but isn't responding to touch. Please how can I fix this?

The only diy repair without repairing anything is to remove the back cover and separate the battery from phone and lay them out on a dish placed on a gas stove having a pilot light, gas oven with pilot light warming the oven, on top of a hot water boiler, sunny window or outside sunny spot; all gently warming the phone to slowly evaporate any remaining moisture. Allow several hours or more for warmth to evaporate tiny amounts of moisture not removed by hand, Q-tip, isopropyl alcohol or tissue. 24 hours of gentle heat should be enough, then reassemble and hope for the best.

It is possible that when the water splashed the screen it probably broke the digitizer which is what registers when and where you touch the screen. So you probably need to replace the screen.
