iPhone3gs is not turning on after new battery was put in.

I installed a new battery on my iPhone and charged it over night and it still showed dead battery. I don't know what to do maybe you can help.

I had the same problem, it could be an incompatible battery. See this post for details.

What is the battery part number(s) that works with iOS4?

Check the part number of the battery. A 3G battery will fit, but not charge.
