Does the 1.4mm screw/screwbase for the wifi antenna serve any purpose?

In an attempt to dry out the Home button, I disassembled my phone using the iPhone 4 Home Button installation guide ( http://ifixit-guide-pdfs.s3.amazonaws.co... ). When removing the wi-fi antenna as described in steps 13 and 14 of the guide, I noticed the 1.4mm (yellow) screw didn't want to come out, even with tweezers. I attempted to apply pressure to remove the 1.4mm screw and the small circular base that it was screwed into ended up coming out with the wi-fi antenna, as if it were not attached to anything in the first place. Is this small circular base the 1.4mm screw went into important? Should I attempt to reattach it or do I need to order a new logic board?

The circular base the screw went into is very small, but I can attempt to provide a picture if needed.

I spoke with a local repair technician and he said this can happen sometimes and that it's nothing to be worried about. Your phone can function fine without the screw and screw base in question without affecting functionality or performance in any way. So far I've found this to be true.
