Why is the Mac keeps on freezing with black bars on screen

I have NonUnibody Macbook Black Penryn 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running Lion 10.7.2 and from December of last year (2011) my Macbook keeps on freezing with black bars across the screen. I don't know if it's the heat, the fans, the logic board, because i already tried various scenarios to slim down the choices of possibles problem originators, and nothing.

I did all of the recommended solutions like, reset the PRAM, reset the SMC, but nothing. What gives?

Down i put links to the pictures and video of the problem:

I had exactly the same freezing issue with an older 2008 MacBook; the black bars on my screen looked identical to those in your pictures. After swapping out logic boards without solving the issue, I finally found out that one of the RAM modules was going bad. The problem disappeared with fresh memory modules.

This almost certainly looks like a GPU Chipset issue. With it being under 1 year I would take this to your local Apple Store, take along the photo's with you. They will most likely replace your Logicboard. Other than that I would suggest to remove the base of the Macbook, unplug the display cable, give it a little wipe and re-seat.

I hope this helps,

Wes

I agree with wes for the graphic card failure but I'd connect the MB to an external monitor to be sure.

Like i said in the first post, i already did the SMC reset. This is very strange because sometimes the macbook can stay up with no problems for a very long time, like 24 horas staright and nothing happens. Than i put two 720p videos that have a 30 minutes duration and nothing happen also. The fans worked like #!*@ but it keep together. So i don't know. Does the graphic card have a so random behaviour like that? I can't find the scenario that triggers that black bars and freeze it happens from time to time.

Can somebody help me? At least to find out what triggers tha behaviour.

In my experience with these faults its just a matter of waiting to see if there is any form of pattern, this is why I suggested taking the photos of the issue with you to Apple, otherwise they may state that they were unable to replicate the fault. It may be related to when the GPU's switch over, with an intermittent problem, so this may not appear everytime. There is obviously a fault and I would personally take this to Apple under your AppleCare warranty ASAP to get this resolved.
