Oven door fell off?

Block Image

Block Image

So here I am cooking, away from the oven and part of the door falls while still attached to its hinges (picture). Looks like the door has two parts, the exterior with the handle and the interior which were once connected. I can’t seem to find where it was attached to so how exactly to you fix this? The door doesn’t close anymore and I’m confused as I rarely ever use this and I’m not trying to have my landlord put the blame on me. It’s a fulgor milano (F1SM2453) oven if that helps

Edit: every video I watch and the top part of their doors have screws (so easy right?), well mine does not so I’m confused as to how they attached this thing in the first place

Hi Prosper,

I hear ya; my son has me coming over all the time to fix things so as to not get the landlord involved.

Anyway, not seeing the pictures you mentioned. Here's a guide to adding them to your question.

I didn't find a service manual for your oven, but the Installation and Use Manual has a section that might be of interest.

Removing the oven door

The oven door can be removed quickly and easily. To do so, proceed as follows:

  • Open the door fully.
  • Lift the two levers shown in fig.
  • Close the door as far as the first stop (caused by the raised levers).
  • Lift the door upwards and outwards to remove it from its mountings.

To replace fit the door, fit the hinges in their mountings and lower the two levers.

This makes it look like it's almost too easy to remove the door. Hopefully with these instructions it'll be just as easy to replace it!

@dadibrokeit I have completely removed the full door but still can’t find the problem and where to attach the split parts as they’re still not connected

Ah, now that I can see your pictures, it's obvious that's not what's going on with your oven; however it might be easier to figure out how to get it back together if you do go ahead and remove the door using the instructions.

@dadibrokeit I have removed the door and will attach more pictures. Still can’t figure out how to get it together, no screws, no traces of glue, there’s nothing that could possibly connect them together. Horrible product design if you ask me

Edit: pictures are in

Hi Prosper,

Couldn't locate any information on the door disassembly specific to your model, but there are a couple other models that both look similar; if yours follows those models, then my guess would be that you've lost four screws over the course of time. Here are the two videos I came across.

@dadibrokeit I really wish that were the case but there aren’t any holes that a screw would go in. So I would assume they used some kind of glue that’s completely dissipated over time. Do you have any idea what glue that might be?
