Headphone Jack does not work in right earbud

Headphone jack was replaced with a new one, because it was distorted.

Now that I have installed a new headphone jack I am only able to get sound out of the left earbud with them push fully in to the headphone jack. If I pull them part way out I get sound in both left and right earbuds.

I have tried different earbuds, including apple's and I get the same results. All earbuds where known to work correctly in other devices without any problems.

What might be causing this issue and how do I fix it?
