Do you have instructions to remove home button circuit?

iPod 3rd gen, 8 gb. Have ordered new LCD Screen Glass + Digitizer For iPod Touch 2nd Gen, 2nd Gen Mid Frame Chassis Bezel + Adhesive. When I removed the home button, I found a circuit, do you have instructions for removing it or do I need a new one to put on the new parts?

Any help will do?

Thanks

Just follow these instructions for installing the display and you should be fine.

I needed to replace the midplane bezel and glass&digitizer. The new parts did not include the home button or the circuit. Do you have instructions for removing the circuit so I can transfer it to the new parts?

Those instructions you referenced do not detail adding or removing the touch screen circuit

I am still "Home Button" challenged on my 2nd Gen.

I have had the IPOD apart twice now trying to make the Home Button work as well as it did prior to replacing the cracked touch screen.

Most recently I have found that the 3M double sided tape used to affix the touch screen glass to the plastic Bezel had softened up from heat and was allowing the home button to work intermitantly and also rotate around.

It has rotated so much that the two horizontal tabs that have scraped the black paint off of the back of the touch screen leaving to semi circle scratches at the top and bottom of the circle cut into the touch screen.

I am not sure what tape to use this next time. And I am not sure if the loose tape is the only issue. Maybe the small ribbon click button circuit is not mounted solid enough underneath the plastic bezel but it acts like it is.

In the process of trying to make the Home Button work reliably I have managed to break the ribbon cable for the touch screen. Now my 3 month or so old touch screen is ruined. What happen was the touch screen glass was coming loose from the plastic bezel near the home button. I tried lifting up the glass to clean off the old glue. Trouble is the old double sided glue gets gummy and does not clean off of the plastic bezel well. In the process of cleaning it off I got glue on the glass and in the process of getting that off, the top edge of the glass got loose on me as more of the double sided tape lost its strength, and in a matter of seconds of the top of the touch screen coming loose I broke the ribbon cable.

My replacement Touch screen came in and I opted for one with every part including a new home button installed. For a few dollars extra I feel it is worth it as compared to installing your old Home button and tiny ribbon click cable.

However the new one came with one half of the tiny ribbon cable loose. What is that all about?

I have to bend it into a u shape and tape it down to get the home button to work. Not sure why it did not come already taped down with that yellow tape.

Anyone know why??
