iPad 7 will not show any signs of life.

I was playing a mobile game recently when my iPad screen suddenly went dark blue, I left it for awhile but nothing changed. I tried force restarting it and the blue screen turned off fully but now it wont turn back on at all. I have tried charging it over night with a working charger. It wont even connect to a computer. Is there anything else I should try? (There is a possibility it tried to update because I had not updated it to iPad OS 16 yet.)

Does anyone have any other ideas? I am really confused by this.

I think it could be a problem with the lightning plug connector or, worse, with the internal board...

Ipad 6th and 7th generations all suffer a common problem where the CPU has defective solder. If this IS the issue it can be sorted by reballing the CPU. It's quite an expensive job, possibly worthwhile if you're needing your memories/data back from it. Cheaper than a new iPad though.

If a 7th gen iPad processor needs to be heated removed and reballed, that should be considered a defect and they should replace it.....

.... but they don't !!!... I was low on memory and attempted to offload some files and apps so I could update to IOS 16. when it said I had enough space I set it to download and install..... It started hiccuping off and on and then went black... The Apple tech informed me that when you offload files and apps they don't actually go anywhere for some time but instead stay in a holding area of files to be removed. However it reports that there is enough space. This causes a logic problem I believe when the directory doesn't match the physical space causing an infinite loop that creates enough heat too unseat the faultily installed processor.

I'm a tech who does board level repairs so I'll try to heat and reseat the chip but Im seriously disappointed.... My iPad 2 is still working as a remote for Logic and many other functions. They made things better then....

Before going about reballing the CPU, it's probably worth checking the components on the logic board. If the iPad's current draw is less than 0.5A, there could well be a short across one or more of the components which you'd be able to pick out using thermal camera.

I have the same problem with my tab but what is happening is that it showed the restore logo thing on the screen and with some research I realised I could use 3utools to bypass this but after doing that it showed the charge your tab logo after doing that it showed the apple logo it was there for a sec then flickered off it repeats that process untill the charging runs out.

What is happening someone please tell me

My best guess would be to replace the battery. If you hear any sound or notifications, it's obviously the screen.

The battery was fine, and the iPad appears to be fully off, it just randomly happened while I was playing a game.

@samuraisammy just because the battery 'was fine' doesn't mean it's not faulty. Always worth a try.

I have a similarly unresponsive ipad same model, but didn't see a blue screen or anything, just charged it overnight and woke up to black screen and no response. It could be the solder issue but wonder since I had a slightly different experience if it's worth looking into further.

Someone got an answer to how to fix this issue ?

No power. Black screen. Just shut off suddenly. Not charging. Nothing.

The iPad has no damages. In a very good condition.

Thank you

Same thing for me

I don’t think anyone has reported a faulty battery connection problem. I cracked mine open my battery and connections are fine. My iPad is pristine not a smudge or speck of dust. I will reball the processor this week so I can return the new one I had to buy yesterday. Or failing that , I’ll package my screen and parts and get most of my money back on the secondary market. I test and guarantee everything I sell but it’s still a drag.
