The Early 2009 Mac Pro—also known as the Mac Pro 4,1—introduced Intel's Nehalem architecture to Apple's line of professional desktop computers in March 2009. The Mac Pro 5,1 used the same interior design but received further CPU updates in 2010 and 2012.

Do you have a replacement for a north bridfge temperture sensor?

I'm getting error code: 4SNS/1/40000000:TNOD-117.114 on my 2010 Mac Pro this indicates an failure of the temperture sensor on the north bridge of the motherboard. Do you sell a replacement part for this?

I'm not even exactly sure where this is on the logic board but pretty sure it's on the processor tray of my 2010 Mac Pro 3.46 GHz 12-core. I'm not having problems with the computer I just bought it used on eBay and it passed all my live testing of ports, copying/compressing large files, and Geekbench processes but when I did a final test via the Apple Hardware Tool DVD disk I get these error codes that all point to the same issue each time I've tested it via the long extended AHT test protocol:

4SNS/1/40000000:TNOD-117.114

or this one:

4SNS/1/40000000:TNOD-117.364

or this one:

4SNS/1/40000000:TNOD-110.614

From what I understand from researching these error codes online they all point to a non functioning or partially functioning Temperture Sensor on the North Bridge of the Motherboard.

So I'm wondering if you guys sell this part for my Mac Pro and have any instructions on how to replace it?

Also, I'm wondering if this issue is really that big of a deal or a problem in real world terms?

THANK YOU!

@thomasthumb the sensor is part of your northbridge heatsink. The 4,1 and 5,1 and interchangeable so a 2008-2009 should fit. Check this guide out first Mac Pro Single CPU Northbridge Heatsink Repair Does not look like iFixit is selling it.

But I have a 12-core 3.46 dual CPU tray Mac Pro 2010 and this is for a single CPU tray. Would then the repair be mostly exactly as shown here but done twice for my model?

Also, in real world testing of this machine I get no errors nor have any problems of any kind so is this non functioning sensor really a problem then in real world terms?

@thomasthumb "I get no errors nor have any problems of any kind " if it aint broke dont fix it. If there are no issues, leave it alone. The Image is a 2010 and the guide is just that, a guide. Since you should still only have one Northbridge it should not change.
