iPhone 4S takes too much power but wont charge.
Hello, my iPhone 4S was working/charging properly until today I wanted to charge it once it was at 50% plugging it in didn't do anything but made the cable very hot, the iPhone was still working but didn't make the charging noise.
Once I plugged it into my laptop using another cable t said that one of the USB devices (iPhone) was taking too much power.
So my iPhone takes in too much power, overheats the cable but won't charge with any cable/adapter.
I will not be using my iPhones last 50% until I hopefully fix it up.
Any help is appreciated.

heating means there is short. Best would be check cable on other phone. also check there might be some metal in plug of iphone, but that in unlikely. I would say there is short near socket on board. You should feel what is getting very hot when it is open

@komota I have tried your method, the cable is the one getting hot not the iPhone. The cable only gets hot for this particular iPhone. The other cables do not get hot but neither won't charge. But thanks for your reply.
