Replaced HDD with SSD - How do I migrate the old HDD to the new SSD?

I have successfully completed the installation of a 2tb SSD replacing the original 1tb HDD. I thought I would be able to connect the HDD and simply restore to the new SSD but it doesn't want to work. I also thought I would be able to restore from Time Machine that I used on the old HDD but it doesn't even see the Time Machine backup when that drive is connected.

Can anyone instruct me on how I can migrate this old HDD to my new SSD with the new drive already installed? I don't want to break open the computer again, it was too intense the first time around.

Error code in the attached image.

You'll need to first install the OS onto the SSD, have you done that yet?

Once you have the OS installed using internet recovery you may need to upgrade it if your HDD was running a newer macOS release.

The next step is connecting your HDD to your system so it's seen. You'll need this Universal Drive Adapter or a HD case as the 3.5" drives need additional power then what the USB port offers.

Then all you need to do is run Migration Assistant application to transfer your stuff over. Move your content to a new Mac
