My tv screen is black and won't turn on but there is sound

Hi, my brand new 65inch TV worked last night when setting it up. It now just has a black screen, has sound but no picture. We can stream to it. But no picture.

We have tried rebooting and unplugging from the wall. Please help.

Hi,

Just verifying that you can't see the TV menu screens either?

If you can't see the Tv menus either, since it is new contact the manufacturer's customer service section regarding a warranty repair.

If you can see the menu screens try another signal source e.g. dvd player just in case the problem is the source of the signal e.g. cable box, etc and not the TV.

What else have you tried e.g. different inputs, input types etc?

Yes wr have contacted the company but can't get it sorted until mid Jan so just wanted to see if there was something I could do to do a factory reset or something.

At the moment I can stream and hear it but can't see. And nope can't see the menu either. Everything is just black.

Hi @ jamie barnes .

Try a power refresh and check.

Turn off the TV if on and then disconnect the power from the TV. I realize that you have done this but now, with the power disconnected, press and hold the TV Power On button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

Reconnect the power to the TV and turn on and check,

If still no good, with the TV on try shining a torch at an angle close to the screen and check if you can detect any images at all. They will be very faint if they are there so trying this in a darkened room may help to see them.

If you can see images then there is a backlight problem. Either the backlight power supply or the mainboard perhaps. This is if the TV is a LED TV (You didn't state the model number)

If the TV is an OLED TV most probably you won't see any images so it may be a mainboard problem.

Do not attempt to open the TV to investigate further so as to not void the warranty
