Both screen and sound failed

Last year my gameboy color was dropped. Very, very hard. The screen was cracked, leaving a large area of dead pixels, but it was otherwise in fine working condition. This morning, I turned it on, and the screen was completely dead, no signs of life, and the speakers sounded muffled. I plugged in headphones and the audio sounded fine on them. I plan on replacing the screen and the speaker, but should I also replace the capacitors for the speaker or maybe the sound amp? I’m not super experienced with soldering and I don’t want to take any risks I don’t have to, I just want it to work how it did before it was broken.

DJ Gunter by know those capacitors could be pretty tired. Check to make sure that they are not leaking etc. Clean your board with some isoproply alcohol and assess for anything odd looking/corroded/leaking etc. You do not have to replace them but it might help to keep it going for even more years. Replacing the screen and the speaker should ultimately get it back to work for you.
