Why laptop take too long before showing up the manufacturer Logo?

Thank you for help.

The screen stay black after powering ON the laptop, not even Showing the manufacturer LOGO (Red Toshiba).

?what happen when I click on power button:

  • the 3 led in the front + the one in the left side beside the Power Button = Turn ON and stay ON.
  • CAPS LOCK Button and NUM LUCK Button = blink (green light) for less than a second and then goes OFF.
  • the FAN = I can hear it working .
  • the HDD (after replacing the SSD) = I can hear it working.

?what I did :

# I replaced the screen with another good screen.

  1. I used a monitor. (nothing show up)
  2. I replaced the RAM (2 slots) with another good ones.
  3. I did try to boot the laptop using only 1 Ram Stick (to check if any of the stick’s reciever is damaged).
  4. I replaced my SSD with HDD (I can hear the HDD working).
  5. I did unplug all the cables from the Mother Board and click on the Reset Button in the Right side of my laptop (small hole), and turning on my laptop each time I plug in a cable.
  6. I removed anything could be removed.
  7. I tried to boot the laptop with and without battery, with and without the Charger plugged in.
  8. I tried to find the CMOS Battery, but looks like there is no one on the Mother Board (some said the main battery play the role of CMOS battery).
  9. I power it ON and leave it for a whole night, believing that may only need a lot of time to work and reach the windows Logo.
  10. I tried to flash the Bios, but wasn’t able to. I don’t know how to do it during the boot (like using a USB), special that I can’t reach the BIOS setting. I tried F2, F12, F8, F10… none of them took me to the Bios, I can’t access the BIOS.
  11. aaaaall this 11 Tries didn’t work. Nothing shows up on the screen. only the Fan that I can hear and the HDD.

✍ My Notice before facing this problem:

my laptop used to take like 11 second to reach the desktop and I start the work . but, lately I see it take more time to show the Manufacturer Logo (Red Toshiba) after clicking the Power Button.

The time (between the Click on Power Button and the Pop up of the Manufacturer LOGO) increase each time I shut down the laptop.

So, I decided to just put it on Hibernate Mode instead of Shut Down. but same problem whenever I click power button it take tooo long (11 min, 15min, 20min…) to reach the Manufacturer Logo and then everything goes smooth and fast.

So. I decided to put it on Sleep mode instead of Hibernate or Shut Down. and yh, this time when I click on the Power Button the laptop turns ON really fast, No problem.

After days using Sleep Mode, I noticed that when I click right (with the mouse to copy/past something) the menu take like 5 seconds to show up, that’s really long. So, here, I was like Okey, let me Shut Down the laptop this night, so it may need to refresh through a clean boot next time.

and that was the last time. I wish I didn’t shut it Down ?.

it was working fine, everything was working good and smooth while it is on.

You normally use an SSD in this laptop, correct?

door

Yh, I've been using SSD more than 2 years.

@hamzach And you also tried a hard drive with the same results in boot time?

door

@andrewsawesome yh, same results, even if I keep clicking on the buttons that will generate no Beep,

if I click on Button FN + F12 = the WiFi indicator (Orange Light/Led) will Turn OFF/ON

I can't even access the BIOS.

if I click on Reset, the first boot after each Reset = the BackLight for the KeyBoard will Blink for a second and then goes OFF. if I did try to power it ON again (without making a reset), the BackLight for the KeyBoard will not turn ON.

@hamzach Which Windows version are you using?

have you tried to do a reset via the power button yet?

remove the battery and hold the power button for 20 seconds in order to drain laptop of all energy. Plug in the battery as well as the power cord and reset by holding F8 and then reboot.

Exactly same problem is happening with my Toshiba laptop, boot time increasing everytime I shut down. But one thing i noticed, after booting if i restart it then it do not stuck instead it restarts quickly as if nothing is wrong.

I think this could be faulty power supply issue in the motherboard.
