Latosha, not sure what you have tried yet. the first thing I would do is, what Luke suggested. That is always a good start. Also make sure that you unplug any devices that are plugged into the in/out/ ports of your TV. After that, it is time to dismantle your TV. Check for the fuses, and very closely inspect the capacitors of the power supply. Check for any bulging, leaking etc. Make sure you discharge any of the capacitors prior to messing with it. Keep your TV unplugged as well. The problem with any of these great TV's is the heat that is being generated. This heat can easily destroy the capacitors. If you find any that need to be replaced, it's a relative easy and inexpensive fix. You can of course exchange any of the boards separately as well from places like this. You can download a trouble shooting manual for your TV from here and the complete service manual is available here. There is also a great discussion about a very similar problem on here. Hope this helps, good luck.

Old Turkey, use Scribd or Issuu. the troubleshooting pdf needs a subscription.

I prefer keepandshare for all of my manuals. You do not need a subscription. I just have to turn share off at times, for some of the manuals, to safe bandwidth. If you should come a cross one of my manuals and share is off, all you have to do is send me an email so I can turn it back on. Anyhow if you need the trouble shooting guide, here it is

A few months back my Sanyo TV started making a pinging sound. One day I turned it on and the right side of the screen was dim, not bright like the rest of the screen. Then I noticed the pinging noise again, then today when I turned the TV on the whole screen was totally black. I only use it for my Roku, never had a problem until after I hooked Roku up to it. Just wondering if it will be cheaper to buy a new TV. I've only had this one for about 2-3 years. It's a smart TV, so they said.

Yes, it probably is the main board. If it is still under warranty, see if you can get them to send a guy out to replace it. But, have you tried to unplug it, wait a while then plug it back in?
