When I turn on my XBox 360, it won’t recognize a disc that’s left in the console. I have to open the tray, then close it, to get it to recognize the disc. Any ideas?

Dan Hughes sounds like your laser is starting to get weak or dirty. Try a commercially available CD lens cleaner and see if that changes anything. If not then you will have to think about getting deeper into your laser assembly.
