Hi,

Here’s a link that may help regarding how to test the LED lights. See Interior Lights section

I realize that the manual is not for your model but looking online the model shown in the link above shares the same service manual as your model, so hopefully it should be the same.

It could also be a faulty door switch, part #953 case parts diagram. The supplier linked is only to show the part and its location. If a part is faulty i.e. LED light or switch, there are other suppliers online that may suit you better. Just search for GNE29GSHCSS parts to get results

To test the door switch, check if the fan inside the refrigerator compartment, stops when the door is opened and starts again when you manually operate the door switch. Normally the fan will run as long as the compressor motor is operating.

The fan is behind a panel so you won’t see it. Feel for the air coming out of the vent or listen for it starting and stopping when operating and releasing the door switch.

The door switch has two functions. It signals the control board that the door is open and the control board turns off the fan (not efficient to blow cold air out of the open door) and also turns on the lights. When the door is closed then the lights are turned off and the fan restarted. Since your model has two evaporator units, one in the freezer section and one in the refrigerator section, it has two evaporator fans. One for each section. Do not confuse these fans with the condenser fan which is located outside the compartments near the compressor and can run regardless of whether the compressor is running or not.
