Ripped during a repair. But what exactly is it?

Hello!

When I was trying to take the screen back off of my watch after removing adhesive and pausing the project for a little while, the screen wouldn’t come off.

I stuck a piece of tape to the screen and slowly pulled it off but I must’ve used too much pressure because I ripped what I believe are two copper traces in a flex cable. I’m pretty sure that I need to replace the whole screen assembly now (ouch) but was just curious what exactly I ripped and what they do.

Gekozen oplossing

Looks like soldering joints to the NFC antenna under the screen.

So theoretically if I don’t use this watch with Apple Pay could I just put it back together for now?

It's your device, you do what you want.

Gotcha. I just wasn’t sure if it would cause any issues like a boot loop etc. Thanks!

Here’s a better pic of the area, It’s just two traces which end there (a very basic antenna)
