Can I use the screen assembly from a late 2013 MBP on a 2017 (15")?

My son spilled a water on my late 2013 MBP, and after a logic board cleaning and replacing the dc power adapter, I still get nothing when I plug it in.

I found a cheap 2017 15” with a broken screen, and wondered if I can swap out the display from my old one on to it. The compatibility lists I have been finding don’t really give me a solid answer.

Thanks in advance.

It’s a physically larger screen so I would imagine it wouldn’t work. Have you tried connecting the liquid damaged machine to an external monitor? I have the same one myself and I know they have an HDMI port.

Okay, that’s what I needed to know. As far as I could tell the late 2013 screen is only compatible up to mid 2014.

It has no power, so nothing from the HDMI cable. The MagSafe doesn’t light up when plugged in. I replaced the DC adapter to no avail.

@daveybuoy then you might want to send it to Rossmann Repair. The owner Louis is a MacBook board repair specialist in NYC and he's got a youtube channel you can check out
