How can I power my S7 EDGE back on for maybe just 2-5 minutes?

Hi guys this is driving me crazy with my trusty old S7 EDGE.

Just a couple of days ago i started charging it in the morning. I came back in like an hour and the phone was unresponsive. Only the green notification light was flashing, indicating a whatsapp message. But the screen stayed black and home, power button will not respond. All the soft reset, hard rest and press all the buttons combination will not work at all. I plug in the charging cable, it will not work. Wireless charger does not respond either. I literally unplugged the battery cable and refitted it and tried all of the above again and nothing works. Before this all happened. The phone was indeed very low on battery 10% for sure.

What i did notice was the charging cable is not charging any other device either. When i plug the charging cable the Power IC area gets warm but that’s it. Just warm but not hot or anything. At this point i am pretty much done with this phone, but i need it to start just for a few minutes to read an important file and i’m done with it. Worst case scenario it’s the Power IC right ? But if i hook up a fully charged S7 edge battery will it boot up ? I am thinking that maybe it bypasses the charging issue and just turns on till the battery depletes itself. Once again i don’t care to repair this phone i just need to get to home screen.

Any help is much appreciated !!

Try plugging it up for about half an hour then doing the the different button configurations. If that doesn't work hook it to a pc and see if it will recognize it.

I tried all of those steps. It's like it doesn't have any power and it's not charging. But i'll try charging again today to see what happens.

That's why i was thinking about a last ditch effort to get another used S7 EDGE and fully charge it's battery and pop it in my actual phone. To see if it will light up.

Is the phone's battery removable? If it is, then remove it, let it cool for 30 minutes, and then put it back in.

That was my first last resort. But i open the rear cover to physically disconnect the battery and then try to recharge/reboot the phone. But nope, no signs of life. The power IC does get warm but it's not charging the phone. Just warm not extremely hot or anything. This is why i was thinking about dropping a known charged battery in and maybe it fill turn on.

In that case, I would give the known charged battery a try. If the file on the phone has not already been backed up to your Google account (it's a good idea to check first), then buying a battery may be worth it.

That's my last try to just boot the phone and read and get a good look at one particular file and send it to google drive and i'm done. Both S7 can go in the garbage can for what i care LOL. I am asking because maybe some people have tested the Power IC that way and might confirm that it can work. I'm thinking about a vehicle engine, the alternator is not working but with a juiced up new battery it still would start and drive till it drains out the new batt.
