Speaker not working even after replacing it

Hi,

I have an iPhone 6 that was water damaged a few years ago. It’s still functioning well except that the hadphone jack and loud speaker doesn’t work. I don’t really care about the headphone jack but ordered a replacement speaker online. First after replacing it I was able to get the speaker to work for a few seconds but after a while it stopped. I opened it up again to check the connections but can’t see any corrosion. Is there anything else I could try replacing?

Gekozen oplossing

A water damaged iPhone 6 will eventually fail as the corrosion takes hold. In the meantime I would replace the charging dock connector. They are only a couple of dollars and will probably bring your sound back. While you have the phone open I would lightly scrub the logic board with 99% Isopropyl alcohol.

Thanks, I replaced the lightning connector as well. Afterwards the phone booted normally but complained of low battery and died before I had time to connect a charger. The screen lights up when I connect a charger but it doesn't seem to charge, after two hours in the charger it still won't boot. Screen still on and shows low battery. Any ideas what could be wrong?
