Pressing home button presses down display after display replacement
Hello,
I followed the guide to replace my iPhone 7’s LCD and Digitizer. Everything is working as expected but I have found that when I press the home button, the bottom of the display is pressed in, which causes a temporary mark on the screen as though the screen has been pressed in hard. The same effect can be reproduced by pressing in the bottom for the screen itself.
Does anyone have any suggestions of how to fix this? Could it be that I screwed in the home button bracket too much or that the display is mispositioned?
Thanks for your help!
Many thanks
Will

When you say the display is pressed in when you click the home button, do you mean the LCD + Digitizer screen gets pressed below the frame?
Also where did you purchase the replacement screen from and is it aftermarket or genuine/original?

@smashedliam No, it doesn't get pressed below the frame, the screen just looks "pressed in" as though you were pressing down on it quite hard.
Purchased the replacement screen from iParts4U, aftermarket, but good quality and trusted supplier. Thank you for replying to me!

@wreid If you're confident the quality of the replacement screen isn't the issue, I'd make sure the back plate is secured and that there isn't anything underneath the screen that would cause the pressure marks when you use the home button.
Any chance you could take some photos or video of the problem happening to give us a better idea of what you're looking at?
