Any options left repairing these MacBooks?

Hi all,

I have 3 MacBook Pro 13” Retina early 2015 here. 2 of them turn on and have a working screen. However, the screens are badly damaged and (probably) need to be replaced.

The last MacBook has a screen that’s not damaged but is not turning on. It is charging though.

I took the logic board of one of the working MacBooks (with the bad screens) and put it in the last one that doesn’t turn on. I get the Apple chime but still no screen (Apple logo on the back doesn’t light up either).

Am I basically looking at 3 broken screens here? Or is there any other way I can do to see if the screen on the last MacBook does work after all?

Btw, I don’t have the knowledge and tools to solder so it’s not an option for me to do board level repairs.

Thanks!

Both of these LCD panels are cracked! The back glass which has the metal oxide traces which sends power to the discreet pixels are broken. This is common as the chemical process makes this back glass brittle while the laminated cover glass is slightly softer.

The second image also shows failing anti-reflective coatings, which could be cleaned off if the display was working.

Bottom line you need displays for both of these as well as SSD drives. The blinking question mark is the systems inability to find a working drive with the needed macOS.

Using another Mac you should be able to create a bootable USB thumb drive and then using the startup keys Option in this case select it to check the rest of the system.
