Damaged LCD or Damaged Logic Board?

My iPhone 7 Plus’ screen has been broken for a long time, I’d say around 9-10 months now. At first the touch still worked and the whole screen was responding which I was fine with so I didn’t bother to get it repaired.

It was fine until around August when I accidentally applied a lot on pressure on the top of my screen. The phone was underneath my laptop on my bed and when I got up I put my hand where my phone was and got up. After I got up I realized that there was a lot of pressure on my phone and it was where the phone was previously cracked on the top left corner. After that certain parts on my screen near the top became unresponsive but the bottom half of my screen was still working so I managed to get by with the use of Assistive Touch and Reachability.

I was still too lazy to get my phone fixed and continued on using those two features until today where it happened again except this time it was at the bottom of my screen where it is already cracked. Now the bottom part of my screen is unresponsive as well with only a tiny portion in the middle still working.

My question is; Is this an issue to do with my logic board, or can it be fixed with a simple repair of a new screen/LCD? I was wondering about this because the unresponsive areas are no where near the logic board so I can’t imagine that being the problem. It would also be hard for me to find someone who would be able to fix the issue if it was to do with the logic board as I don’t have the equipment for micro-soldering nor the knowledge. It would be a lot better if it was just the LCD/screen so I could buy an iFixit kit and replace it myself.

Btw, there are no other visual issues with my screen like black lines or discolored areas.

It is hard to say if you don’t open the phone, so the best you can do is open up the phone and look if the logic board isn’t broke. If logic board isn’t broke then I would try a new screen, these aren’t so expensive anymore.
