Hi buchta14,

Have you tried opening your TV yet?

LED strips in Samsung TVs are often the culprit why the TV is not turning on.

It you have a multimeter, you can test if the LED strips are powered or not and also is the individual LEDs are working. Sometimes all it takes, is one LED shorts and it prevents the TV from turning on.

@honakrisi When I moved my tv to a different room to test it I actually did just notice that the screen is turning on and off. Will not stay on though just flickers on and off until I unplug it

Hi,

Does it display the Samsung Logo and then turns off of just flickers for a second and then off?

Unfortunately you might have a bad LED or two on one of your strips but to check that you need to take your TV apart. It is not difficult but you should always take precaution as you could get electrocuted quite easily.

The issue could be anywhere. These new TVs have built in LED drivers in the power supply so if it goes bad, sometime you need to buy a new panel.

Could be the LED strips which are at fault, those are the cheapest to replace/repair.

Or it can be the main board which again is replaceable but also cost heavy. Especially with newer models.

Yeah displays the Samsung logo then turns off. I have it apart and was leaning towards the power board and have found one for a decent price. Just not 100% sure @honakrisi

Just curious .. if it was one of the led strips would the tv not just always be off and not flicker like it is ? Seems as if it’s just going through the startup sequence then stops and restarts. Doesn’t turn completely on as it is a little darker than normal but I just assumed cause it’s shutting off so quickly. @honakrisi

Hi,

I would start measuring voltages on both marked connectors on the attached image.

You should see the reference voltages written on the board. I marked those as well. Keep in mind that both connectors have two rows of connections so don’t just measure the ones on the top. You might need to disconnect the cables from the LED and the main board side to probe them with your multimeter.

You should have stable voltages and they should not be changing.
