Randomly switching off, slow response home, power and volume buttons

Im having a strange issue with my iPhone 8 for about 3 days randomly restarting.

I replaced the battery myself about 2 weeks ago with one unbranded one I bought off eBay. It was working absolutely fine until 3 days ago. The battery still charges fine and shows 100% in capacity.

if I press the power button there is a slow response. If I press the volume up or down for more than a sec it will go all the way up or all the way done as though I have kept it pressed for quite a few seconds. If i try to take a screenshot the screen goes off rather than the screenshot. The phone randomly restarts several times a day.

I haven’t tried anything like restoring the software as I’m not sure whether this is a software issue or hardware. Any ideas on where I should start to look? Thanks

The issue may be due to the fact you purchased an unbranded battery from eBay. Along with Amazon, Wish, and AliExpress, neither of them have any quality control over the parts sold on there so you’re basically buying cheap crap. If the old battery is still in tact, I would swap that back in and test it. You can run the phone without fully reassembling it to test if it’s the battery. If that fixes it, send that battery back for a refund and order one from a reputable supplier like Mobile Sentrix, Injured Gadgets, or Mobile Defenders. All 3 are a great option but Sentrix and Gadgets do sell higher capacity batteries for iPhones and use them in my own shop with a high customer satisfaction rating.

If the issue still persists, you might have a board problem. Does it at least show proper battery percentage in the top right corner? Or is it stuck at 1%?

Hi. The battery is definitely defective and I need to replace it as it had been suddenly dropping charge. Thanks for the suggestions for reputable suppliers but I’m looking for someone UK based if anyone has any good recommendations.
