I dropped my phone and now it won't turn on at all

Hey guys!

I recently dropped my phone and now it wont turn on at all. Screen is not cracked at all.

When it happened there was still light in the screen, but then the phone died shortly afterwards (Low charge) Haven’t been able to get the screen on at all since.

I’ve connected it to my mac and it indeed recognizes that there is an iPhone connected. Checked both in “System Report” and it popped up as a phone connected when I set it in DFU mode. So there is some kind of life in my phone.

I’ve open it and tried looking for damaged cables. Specifically looked at the cables for the screen and they looked all right.

Anybody that has an idea of that I could do? Maybe screen replacement or something completely else?

I reeeeally don’t want to buy a new phone.

There are a few different reasons why this is happening.

  • Your battery is “consumed” or is no longer holding a charge.

* Apple estimates that the iPhone battery will lose 20 percent of its capacity after 400 full charge and discharge cycles. Depending on how much you use it and how you recharge it (let it drain completely and then charge it or otherwise )

  • You can take it to an Apple Store to have the battery tested for free.
  • A replacement battery is $49.00
  • Try a Forced Restart. (1st Generation)
    1. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button.
    2. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons
  • Forced Restart (2nd Generation)
    1. Quickly press and release the Volume Up button
    2. Quickly press and release the Volume Down button
    3. Press and hold the Side button.
    4. Continue holding the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
  • Factory reset iPhone SE with your PC
    1. On a Mac with macOS Catalina 10.15, open Finder. On a Mac with macOS Mojave 10.14 or earlier, or a Windows PC, open iTunes
    2. Connect your iPhone SE to your computer using your charging cable
    3. Enter your phone’s passcode if you get a prompt, or tap Trust This Computer.
    4. Select your iPhone SE when it appears on your computer.
    5. Click Restore iPhone.
    6. Click Restore again to confirm
  • Your computer will now erase your iPhone SE to factory settings and install the latest iOS software on it.
  • If none of the above work then it may be time to trade in for another device. Or take it in or send it to Apple and let them tell you what is wrong, but that costs

Your issue is some of the following.

  1. Bad LCD
  2. Motherboard damage. It will not be the battery if you are seeing any lights. If you see lights, this would be the backlight engaging. So if backlight engages you likely have damaged components around the LCD Display FPC. The backlight and Display plugs into one Flex. There’s likely a knocked off Filter around the FPC.
  3. Message if you need anymore help. We have extensive knowledge.

I just connected my phone to my mac and set it in DFU mode and trying to restore it now. Still no sign of life in the LCD.

door

It's the 1st gen. Only when I set it in DFU mode it prompted me om my mac. I'll keep you updated how the restore goes. Currently its "Restoring iPhone software" so far so good.

I recently dropped my iPhone 7plus.when connected to charger it shows an apple logo and go off. I take it to be fixed . It was fixed and worked properly for few days. It went off again and showed apple logo again. I buy a new battery they put it in it works for one day and off again. What could be the problem and how to solve it. Please

Thank you!

when you dropped the phone there is a chance that the logic board and the LCD screen may have become disconnected leading in your screen being "Off" if you open up the phone it can be an easy fix. Hope this works.

That hasn't been my experience with iPhones so far. Due to all of the internal connectors being secured with metal plates and screws, I've yet to see one simply come disconnected due to a fall. I think Apple got that right in that respect.
