Can iPod touch Mah capacity battery be extended?

I have ipod touch 6th gen. The battery of my ipod has leaked. I would like to know Can 1043 mah be replaced to 1500mah battery? Is there any problem using different mah battery in ipod? Will it affect the ipod and battery if different mah used?

As long as you go with something higher than the OEM and a quality battery you should be safe. But I’m not sure there are any reputable suppliers out there that make upgraded capacity batteries for iPods. I can buy them for iPhones at least and they have roughly 20% more capacity than OEM depending on model. You can buy them from mobile sentrix.
