find and replace the water filter for the ice maker?

I don’t believe there is a filter on this model after searching “LFHT1831QF5”. Of course you can always add one in your water line in at the back of the unit if you wish but my experience is if you are getting gunk in your ice you have a worn out mold/heater lining that has delaminated it’s anti stick coating and it is time for a new mold or complete icemaker. You can get the complete icemaker for about the same price as the mold/tray unit. This appears to be a rigged system to try and sell more complete ice makers by the manufacturers. Also more needless waste into landfills.
