Will not print document in black but test page prints black

Black ink cartridge is new, is HP ink, shows to be almost full in ink level estimate. Print Quality Diagnostic page prints in black, all color boxes print correctly but black color box is empty.

If you switch the black cartridge with a color one and run the diagnostic page again is the black color box still empty?

I only have extra capacity black cartridges which won't fit in the color slots. Color cartridges won't lock into black slot. Will try to find a regular size black cartridge.
