Fuzzy green screen, horrible loud noice and the whole thing freezes up
My laptop will randomly make a horrible, loud grinding/screechy noise, along with the screen going green and fuzzy/lines, then it completely freezes and needs turning off and on again. Sometimes it will just go green and freeze, other times it will just make the noise and freeze; other times it will do both!
It seems to happen when I move it, but even if just a little, and occasionally, it could just be the tiniest movement or even from starting to use the keys!!
Does anyone have any ideas what could be the issue!?

If you can I would run the onboard diagnostics to see if any errors pop. Restart your system and press the D key to enter. Let us know what you discover.

Thank you very much for your reply and advice!
I'll try film it when it does it again, it's really random.
I've now done an onboard diagnostics thing, had to do Apply Hardware Test as it's 2012. It came up as 'no problems found'. So now I'm really confesed as it definitely has some kind of big issue going on!

Diagnostics have there limits! Hang in there!
Which model do you have 13" or 15" Unibody or Retina? What year?

It's 15", from mid 2012 so getting on a bit really. pretty sure it's not retina.
