Input protection varistor visibly burned, meter says it's fine?!

Hi there,

I have a Viera TX-L47DT50E LED-TV which is completely dead (no standby light, nothing). Obviously I checked input voltage, caps and fuses (all fine), after not even reading standby voltage I suspected the input protection varistor being blown. It was “laid down” on the pcb, so I tried to lift it up to inspect it for any visual signs of damage (burn) and noticed it was stuck there. I first thought it might have been glued to the pcb (as are some other components on that board), but when I finally lifted it, I saw this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EkhDLm4...

When I googled for “burned varistor” I found images that looked similiar to the image above. I then clipped off one leg and tested the varistor with my meter (set to read high resistance), which showed me high resistance. According to my googling, that means the varistor should be fine, but then again, it does look kinda messed up in the image I posted above.

What do you think, am I looking at a dead varistor here and should just replace it, just to be sure?
