MacBook - won't charge with USB C-C cable - charges fine with USB A-C

Apple branded MacBook charger (30 W) with USB C to USB C cable recently stopped working on my MacBook. No visible damage. But it will charge my phone, so the charger isn’t dead and the cable works.

Apple branded iPad charger (10 W) with USB A to USB C cable does charge the MacBook, albeit slowly.

Anker branded charger (two ports, USB A and C) - this will charge my MacBook but only from the USB A port (the USB C port works fine with other devices).

Any idea what could be broken and (better still) how ifixit?

Unsure if this is the solution but the 12 - inch Macbook should have come with a 29W power adapter. It sounds like you are using a 30W meant for the MacBook Air. Try using the recommended power adapter with the MacBook.

I hear ya, but the 30 W adapter has been working for months. I feel like the answer's somewhere else. Thanks though.
